Notice Regarding COVID-19 Infection of Hotel Staff

Around 6:00 p.m. on August 18, 2021, it was determined that one service staff member working at SORANO HOTEL’s DAICHINO RESTAURANT was infected with the new coronavirus. The route of transmission is unclear, and although we are asking the health center in our jurisdiction for instructions regarding close contacts, we have been informed that a clear assessment is not possible at this stage, so we have started thorough disinfection of the entire building and antigen testing for all employees.

The service staff was on leave on August 13 (Friday), worked on 14 (Saturday), and had a fever late night after returning home. The staff has been recuperating at home and has not reported to work since 15 (Sunday). A PCR test was conducted on 17 (Tuesday) with a positive result coming back in the evening on 18 (Wednesday).
To that effect, we are contacting our hotel guests, restaurant & bar visitors, and spa members who visited us from August 5 to 14, which dates back 10 days before August 14, for whom we know contact information. If you have any symptoms such as fever or fatigue, please consult a medical institution or health center.

Regarding hotel operations, we will continue to remain open taking all necessary infection control measures, including further thorough disinfection of the entire building and antigen testing of all employees. We are informing guests with bookings about our current situation, which we hope will help in your judgment for cancellations or other actions.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the SORANO HOTEL’s main line at 042-540-7777.
