Our new takeout menus – Pressed Eel Sushi with eel chargrilled to perfection and Mackerel Sushi featuring a fresh fillet

For home or a gift – pressed eel sushi and mackerel sushi expertly handcrafted with select ingredients
Pressed eel sushi, a summer tradition of Kyoto, and mackerel sushi, a Kyoto favorite since the Edo period, are our recommendations for take-out to accompany you during your extended stay at home or to take to your family or friends as a gift.
Here are two Kansai-style sushi dishes presented by our chef hailing from a long-established restaurant in Kyoto. Reservations start on Saturday, June 12.

 
Pressed eel sushi (eel from Nasu) 4,500 yen
Moderately rich, buttery eel from Nasu in Tochigi prefecture is grilled over a charcoal flame and rolled with a savory egg omelet in our hotel’s original SORANO rice cooked with burdock.   The sweet sauce absorbed by the eel and the sushi rice with a hint of burdock add beautiful accents to the dish. This menu is perfect for your reduced appetite days of summer.
 
Mackerel sushi (live mackerel from Oita prefecture) 3,500 yen
Well-acquainted in Kyoto, mackerel sushi has a long history starting in the Edo period (17th to 19th centuries). Mackerel grown in Oita prefecture’s Bungo Channel are cleaned by the ikejime method and made into pressed sushi on the day. The mackerel is topped with kombu paper to add mellowness and savory umami. Enjoy the delicate flavors of the ingredients in this mackerel sushi, which is also a good accompaniment to your drinks.

11:00 a.m. on June 12 (Saturday) to 1:00 p.m. on September 26 (Sunday), 2021
*Orders can be made up to pick-up on September 29 (Wednesday)
*Excludes regular hotel holidays (3:00 p.m. Wednesday to 3:00 p.m. Thursday)

Cancellation charge:
7 or fewer orders: 100% from 1:00 p.m. one day before
8 or more orders: 100% from 1:00 p.m. two days before

Pick-up:
DAICHINO RESTAURANT (lobby floor) between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
*Your order will be available between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. for inhouse guests who wish to enjoy it in guest rooms.
*Please bring your own carry bag. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
